Two Nations Fight In The Womb of This Age

Two Nations Fight In The Womb

In the Old Testament scripture, we that Rebekah was pregnant with two sons in her womb at once. The two sons are known as Jacob and Esau. Esau came out first and is the oldest, yet Jacob holds the birthright. This is somewhat of a mystery that I seek to unravel here in this article.

  • Genesis 25:21-27 KJV - 21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why [am] I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. 23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations [are] in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and [the one] people shall be stronger than [the other] people; and the elder shall serve the younger. 24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, [there were] twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac [was] threescore years old when she bare them. 27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob [was] a plain man, dwelling in tents.

According to Jewish customs, the first son of the family is given a special inheritance and right to certain things within the family. This I believe speaks also of Adam who was the first man on the earth who once had the birthright to reign and rule the earth and have dominion over it yet he sinned and died, as we read in Genesis:

  • Genesis 1:26-30 KJV - 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Adam had dominion over the earth and all the things made within the earth, if he would have obeyed the voice of the LORD and did not eat of the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil, as we read in Genesis 3. Yet, Adam ate the forbidden fruit and died. I believe that once Adam betrayed Yahweh in the Garden of Eden, he lost his birthright and dominion and allowed Satan to grab hold of God's creation. We see now under the New Covenant that even today Satan is the god of this world here on earth, and that the world is now in opposition of the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 KJV - 3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

We see that Adam is the first born of men upon the earth, and was created by the hand of God, yet he transgressed and forfeited his birthright so that he could follow Eve. Even so, we read that Esau the first born of Isaac also transgressed and sold his inheritance for a bowl of soup:

  • Genesis 25:29-34 KJV - 29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he [was] faint: 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red [pottage]; for I [am] faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I [am] at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised [his] birthright.

Esau and Jacob - A Type and Shadow

Many times in the Bible, specifically in the Old Testament, also known as the Jewish Tanakh, we see that people are often times a symbolic representation of something greater or a shadow of something or someone to come later. Even the Holy Days of the LORD in Leviticus 23 are types and shadows of Christ and the New Covenant. Yet, in this article I want to share how I believe Esau is a type or symbol of the world, and Jacob is a type or symbol of the godly person who is led by the Holy Spirit and well pleasing to the God of Heaven.

The Hunter

The Bible says Esau was a hunter, and this is also said about Nimrod in Genesis 11. The Hunter I believe represents someone who is not just a hunter of animals, but represents the ones who hunt the souls of men and seeks to devour their souls with cunning traps and devices. You might say that Satan is the ultimate hunter of mankind. Likewise, Esau who was red all over and hairy like a carnal beast is also a Hunter and according to the Book of Jasher, he hunted the hearts of men. The Book of Jasher is quoted several times in the Old Testament but is not included as part of the Biblical Canon.

  • Jasher Chapter 28:19-20 -19 And Esau was continually hunting in the fields to bring home what he could get, so did Esau all the days. 20 And Esau was a designing and deceitful man, one who hunted after the hearts of men and inveigled them, and Esau was a valiant man in the field, and in the course of time went as usual to hunt; and he came as far as the field of Seir, the same is Edom.

The Peaceful Obedient Son

In the Bible we see that Jacob was a peaceful son who dwelt in tent and learned the ways of the LORD, and this I believe was a type and shadow of the born again Spirit filled believer in the Messiah under the New Covenant. Yet, even since the days of Adam, we have seen that Abel was a righteous son who was peaceful, and was murdered by his brother Cain. You might say that Cain was the first hunter type figure in the Bible.

  • Jasher Chapter 26:17 - And the boys grew up to their fifteenth year, and they came amongst the society of men. Esau was a designing and deceitful man, and an expert hunter in the field, and Jacob was a man perfect and wise, dwelling in tents, feeding flocks and learning the instructions of the Lord and the commands of his father and mother.

Analysis

It seems as though Jacob is a type and shadow of the Messiah who was like a sheep, who did no harm and was peaceful and in his early life he was wise beyond his years and cared greatly for the things of the Father. While Esau is a type and shadow of the world, who is carnal and persecutes and sets traps for the godly and obedient men and women upon the earth. We see that after Esau sold his inheritance, he was angry with Jacob after Jacob took the place of Esau and deceived Isaac his father into giving him the blessing and the birthright. Yet, even as the birthright was sold to Jacob and rightfully belonged to him, Esau was greatly angered and sought to hunt and persecute his brother Jacob. Likewise, those who are born under Adam who was sold under sin and became carnal now persecutes those who are born of the Spirit of the Messiah who rightfully owns the birthright and promises of God under the New Covenant.

You may also say that Nimrod in Genesis 11 was also a type of Hunter, who brought all people together in opposition to the Most High God of Heaven and even sought to make war with Him and build a tower that would reach His Throne in Heaven. This is also expanded upon in the Book of Jasher.

Likewise, we see in Revelation 13 that the final Antichrist will also hunt the souls of men and deceive them into uniting with him in a One World Order which is in rebellion to the Most High God and His Anointed One.

The First and Second Adam

It seems as though Adam and Yehsua Jesus are very similar to Esau and Jacob, as Esau came first but sold his inheritance for a bowl of soup, and likewise Adam was given dominion in Genesis but lost it in the Garden when he harkened to the words of Eve. Jacob is the child of Promise even though he came after Esau, and likewise, Christ is the one who will receive the inheritance and dominion on the Earth even though it was first given to Adam. God had to be born as a son of Adam in order to redeem the sons of Adam (mankind) and to take back the birthright which was lost to Satan by the disobedience of Adam.

In the writings of the New Testament, we see an argument is made for the idea of Adam being the first man, and Yeshua Jesus being the Second Adam who redeems man from the curse of sin and death. Yet, only those who would repent and follow Him will receive the inheritance in Christ.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:45-57 KJV - 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven. 48 As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory? 56  The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law. 57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe that Yeshua Jesus Christ is the Second Adam who came down from Heaven, and that He is God who willingly became a man and a humble servant in order to reclaim the birthright that Adam lost in the Garden, to fulfill the Law of Moses that no man can fulfill, and to expose the prince of this world Satan as Christ was brutally condemned and crucified even though He knew no sin.

  • Psalm16:10 KJV - 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

How is it justified that Christ should die, if the wages of sin is death, but Christ Himself knew no sin? It is justified by God the Father because God the Son died as a sin offering, as payment for our sin debt, in order to reverse the curse of sin and death that was inherited by our father Adam.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:20-23 KJV - 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

This notion that Messiah had to die as a sin offering for our sins is also seen in the Old Testament writings of Isaiah, as Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world:

  • Isaiah 53:1-12 KJV - 1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

A Struggle In The Womb of This Age

There is a struggle in the womb of this age, in this dispensation of time. The Kingdom of this world makes war with the Kingdom of Christ and His body on earth. One nation against One nation.

  • John 18:36-37 KJV - 36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
  • James 4:4 KJV - 4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Those who belong to the body of Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth are persecuted by the world who is carnal and rejected of God for they have rejected the only begotten Son of Yah - Yeshua Jesus.

  • John 3:16-21 KJV - 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Even today, the world is like Esau who despise the things of God and reject the sacrifice of the Son of God on the Cross. We know Esau cared not for the things of Yah, for he sold his birthright for a bowl of soup to feed his belly, even as the world will sell their soul and receive the Mark of the Beast just to get by a few more years.

The two nations who strive in the womb of this age today, they are Jacob (Christians) and Esau (The World). One has received the promises (Jacob) and one was rejected (Esau) by God. These of course are not literal descendants of Jacob and Esau but they are symbolic representations. One may make an argument for Iran and Palestine being descendants of Esau who seek to take Jerusalem from the descendants of Jacob today.  Yet, speaking of the born again Christian versus the world - one is spiritual (Jacob) through Messiah and one is carnal (Esau).

Just as Esau persecuted Jacob in his day because of jealousy for losing his inheritance, even now Palestine and Iran persecutes Jacob Israel in their Promised land. Likewise, the world persecutes the true Christian believers who are led by the Spirit and are obedient to Christ.

There is nothing new under the sun. There has always been a struggle since the earth was made, and since the womb of time was formed, even since Cain slew righteous Abel who's sacrifice was pleasing to God Most High. Even since Nimrod sought to destroy Abram and his seed, even since Isaac was persecuted by Ishmael, and Jacob was hunted by Esau. Now today, it is the ungodly, those who belong to the world, they persecute those who are born of the Spirit of Christ. Even as the Antichrist will hunt those who are left behind and hold the testimony of Yeshua Jesus and follow His commands.

The House of Jacob - The Inheritors

Regardless of genealogy and physical descent, we know the true Israel are those who have received Messiah (Yeshua Jesus), and have been born of the Spirit, while those who are of the world are as Esau who are carnal and are rejected by God (Galatians 3:29). Even a Jew today who refuses the true Messiah Yeshua Jesus will not receive the Promises of Yah and the inheritance that was promised to Abraham, for it is only through the Messiah that one may be justified and not by the works of the law of Moses.

  • Romans 9:3-13 KJV — For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

Yeshua Jesus is the Promised Seed of Abraham and those who trust in Christ's work and His atonement sacrifice are the children of the Most High. Though we are called to be obedient to Yeshua Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant if we wish to recieve the inheritance.

  • Galatians 3:6-29 KJV — Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

We see in John Chapter 14, only those who obey Jesus will receive His Spirit, the Spirit of the Most High:

  • John 14:15-21 KJV - 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Those who receive Yeshua Jesus as Messiah become the body of Christ and subject to the Head who is in Heaven. As Christ is now seated in Heaven at the right Hand of God, and His words are still in effect. In John Chapter 3, Jesus tells us that we must be born by water and the Spirit if we seek to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, and I believe that means once we repent and follow Jesus, and are baptized into water for the remissions of sin, we will become new creatures in Christ and will be formed to the likeness of Christ by His Spirit:

  • Romans 8:13-17 KJV -13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also glorified together.

Those who are under the law in Israel, are only freed from the law and the Covenant of Moses if they receive the true Messiah Yeshua Jesus who is God in the flesh and who poured out His blood as a sin offering as He was crucified to bring us the New Covenant and forgiveness of sin (see Isaiah 53, Hebrews 8-10):

  • Galatians 4:4-7 KJV - 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

It is true that the worldly and ungodly kingdoms and pagan rulers have ruled the earth since the days of Noah and the fall of Adam, and even so it will remain that way until Christ brings His Kingdom to earth after the Battle of Armageddon (Revelation 19-20, Joel 3, Zechariah 14). This I believe is foreshadowed in the below prophecy where the elder (the world kingdoms) shall then serve the younger (Christ and His Kingdom) at His return:

  • Romans 9:9-12 KJV — For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.

The worldly kingdoms of the earth, the kingdoms of the First Adam, will lose their inheritance once the Male-Child and head of Jacob is born on the earth and rules and reigns all nations with a rod of iron:

  • Psalm 2:1-12 KJV - 1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, [saying], 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou [art] my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give [thee] the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust in him.

The Painful Birth Period - Jacob's Trouble

It is my understanding that the travail of Zion spoken of by Jeremiah in the Old Testament passage below, is a reference to Daniel's 70th Week. Jeremiah calls it Jacob's Trouble and and that there is none like it which I believe includes the great tribulation that Jesus speaks about in Matthew 24:15-21. Prophet Jeremiah likens this time of trouble to a woman who is in painful childbrith (travail), yet out of it Israel and Judah will be saved. At the end of the of Jeremiah 30, in verse 24, it tells us this time of fierce anger of the LORD is for the latter years, and I believe that time is now.

  • Jeremiah 30:4-9 KJV — And these are the words that the LORD spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah. For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him: But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

A similar passage was written by Prophet Isaiah concerning the Day of LORD and a woman in birth pangs:

  • Isaiah 13:6-9 KJV — Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Sarah was the wife of Abraham, and Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac's son was Jacob who had twelve sons, and those twelve sons became twelve tribes known as Israel, and out of the tribe of Judah the Messiah was prophesied to come. Israel the Nation was espoused to the Father, even though a certificate of divorce was decreed for the adultery of Israel, as it is said that you should in no way put away your wife except it be for adultery, and Israel had many false gods and idols. Nevertheless, out of the marriage covenant through Moses, between the Father and Israel, came forth the Messiah who is the Only Begotten Son of the Father, being God manifested in the flesh.

  • Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV - 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Even though Messiah did no wrong neither was their deceit in His mouth, backsliding Israel denied, shamed, falsely accused, rejected and also crucified the Promised Seed of Abraham openly. Except for the small group who believed and followed Him even after He ascended to Heaven. Namely the Apostles and early Jewish disciples. And thus the Great Commission was sent forth, that His disciples should go into all nations and preach the good news, making disciples, and converting the Gentiles into followers of the Messiah until the fullness of the Gentiles be fulfilled (see Matthew 28), as Israel as a whole rejected Him who came from above.

  • Micah 5:2-3 KJV — But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

The promised seed, the ruler from Israel who is from everlasting, He is the Male-Child and the One who was prophesied to rule all nations with a Rod of Iron (see Psalm 2). Yet, Israel groans in pain waiting for Him to come forth and deliver them. Yet, Israel must be first purified in Jacob's Trouble and then the Male-Child will receive His inheritance and His Kingdom will be born on the Earth. For His body has been growing in the womb of this age for 2000 years since Christ first came.

Daniel's 70th Week, also known as Jacob's Trouble, is the painful birthing period that will bring forth the Kingdom of Messiah in Jerusalem at the Second Coming of Yeshua Jesus from Heaven (see Revelation 19-20). This will happen immediately after the 7 Year Tribulation Period as we read in Matthew 24:

  • Matthew 24:29-30 KJV — Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Sarah - A Type And Shadow of Last Days Israel

It appears the Most High God caused Sarah, the wife of Abraham, to be a type and shadow of last days Israel who is now as an aged barren woman who has brought forth no Son to bear rule over her house as the first Male-Child. When Abraham was expecting the promised seed to be born, Sarah was past the age of childbirth, and yet the Most High opened her womb and the child of promise came forth.

Even in the old age of Israel the nation, the Promised Seed and His Kingdom will still be born on the earth, as the promises of God are faithful and will be brought forth in the appointed time. And like Sarah, Israel will also bring forth in these last days, as that which is impossible with man is possible with Yahweh.

Despite Israel being small and weak among the nations and the prospect of Israel ruling all nations seems small, the Kingdom of Christ will be born on the earth in these last days to rule over the earth from the City of David. The Male-Child will come forth out of the womb of this age, and the pain of the Tribulation Period, as He is the Only Begotten Son of the Father in Heaven, and from the beginning it was determined that He will be given dominion and authority over all the earth.

The Male-Child - Delivered Before The Painful Birth

According to the below scriptures, and others, I believe the Male-Child will be born into Heaven before the painful travail of Daniel's 70th Week:

  • Isaiah 66:6-10 KJV — A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

This is also seen in Revelation 12, where the Male-Child is caught up to Heaven before he is devoured, and we know Christ did not escape death, but those who are taken in the rapture will:

  • Revelation 12:4-5 KJV — And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

It seems that once the Male-Child is born into Heaven at the Rapture before the Tribulation, then the Son of Satan will be born on the earth and will be united with his body in the One World Order of Revelation 13.

After the painful birth period, the Male-Child will appear from Heaven and be born on the earth and rule from Sion, as the Promised Son of Israel and only begotten of the Father in Heaven. And we followers of the Messiah, as His body, will rule and reign with Him from Jerusalem, and all nations will come up every year to pay homage and worship Him on the Feast of Tabernacles.

  • Zechariah 14:4-9 KJV — And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Once the painful birth is complete, Jacob's Trouble and Daniel's 70th Week, the two who struggle in the womb will be born. One born into everlasting glory and dominion with the Son, the Promised Seed and Male Child. While the other is born into eternal condemnation and separation from the Most High God. Those who reject Christ and follow the Beast into perdition.

The End of the Age - Esau To Jacob

In the 1611 King James Apocrypha, it includes the book of 2nd Esdras, which is attributed to the scribe Ezra of the Old Testament during the Persian Captivity of Judah. This book describes Esdras' visions and encounters with an angel of the LORD and the LORD Himself concerning the end of the world and the restoration of Israel. I believe much of the prophecy in this book speaks to the current times we live in today just before the start of Daniel's 70th Week. In the below passage, we see that Esdras is seeking information concerning the end of the age, which I believe is after the age of grace and the 7 Year Tribulation Period. God tells Esdras that Esau is the end of this age, and Jacob is the age that follows.

  • 2 Esdras 6 (NRSVUE) - 7 I answered and said, What will be the dividing of the times, or when will be the end of the first age and the beginning of the age that follows?” 8 He said to me, “From Abraham to Isaac, because from him were born Jacob and Esau, for Jacob’s hand held Esau’s heel from the beginning. 9 Now Esau is the end of this age, and Jacob is the beginning of the age that follows10 The beginning of a person is the hand, and the end of a person is the heel; seek for nothing else, Ezra, between the heel and the hand, Ezra!”

It is possible that this is symbolic, meaning that this age is ruled by the carnal man, and the kings and leaders of this age are like Esau who are unbelieving and hunt the souls of the righteous. And once Daniel's 70th Week is complete, then the kingdoms of the world will become the Kingdoms of Christ as Yeshua Jesus the head of Jacob will return from Heaven to Earth and take His seat on the Throne for the Millennial Kingdom and will rule all nations with a Rod of Iron. The Promised Seed Yeshua Jesus has not yet received His birthright, which is to rule all nations as we read in Psalms 2, Psalms 110, Revelation 20, Isaiah 2, and Zechariah 14. As twins in the womb, Esau came first and Jacob came after holding onto his heel, meaning that after Esau (the Unbelievers) rules the earth and squanders his birthright, then Jacob (Christ and His Kingdom) will appear as the one who has won the birthright, as Yeshua Jesus redeemed what Adam lost in the garden at the Cross, even as Esau sold his inheritance to Jacob. Once Messiah Yeshua Jesus defeats the Antichrist and the kings of the Earth at Armageddon, then the reign and age of Esau will be over, and the Promised Seed of Jacob will then have dominion over all the nations for 1000 years and the body of Christ who is now grafted into Israel by faith will also reign and rule with Messiah. This is at least my understanding.

  • Daniel 7:8-14 KJV - 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn [were] eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things. 9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment [was] white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne [was like] the fiery flame, [and] his wheels [as] burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld [even] till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, [one] like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion [is] an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom [that] which shall not be destroyed.

Increasing Birth Pains - A Sign of The End

I believe at this point in time, as this age increases in pain and sorrow as a woman who is giving birth, we are seeing the Biblical birthing pains (sorrows in some translations) that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24 increase in intensity and frequency as this age of grace comes to a close. The wars, rumours of wars, plagues, famines, earthquakes and more are all increasing as labor pains all around the world until the painful birthing period of Daniel's 70th Week.

  • Matthew 24:3-8 KJV - 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows (Strong's G5604 - Birth Pangs).

The sentence that was given to Eve in the beginning seems to be somewhat of a prophecy or a physical representation of the 6000 years of painful travail for mankind from Adam until the birth of the Male-Child which is the establishment of the Kingdom of Christ on the earth. As Eve brought sin into the world, the world has seen much pain and trouble and it increases in the womb of this age even now.

KJV Apocrypha - Birthpains

  • 2 Esdras 16 - 35 Listen now to these things, and understand them, O servants of the Lord. 36 Behold the word of the Lord, receive it; do not disbelieve what the Lord says.[a] 37 Behold, the calamities draw near, and are not delayed. 38 Just as a woman with child, in the ninth month, when the time of her delivery draws near, has great pains about her womb for two or three hours beforehand, and when the child comes forth from the womb, there will not be a moment’s delay, 39 so the calamities will not delay in coming forth upon the earth, and the world will groan, and pains will seize it on every side.

  • 2 Esdras 16 - 40 “Hear my words, O my people; prepare for battle, and in the midst of the calamities be like strangers on the earth. 41 Let him that sells be like one who will flee; let him that buys be like one who will lose; 42 let him that does business be like one who will not make a profit; and let him that builds a house be like one who will not live in it; 43 let him that sows be like one who will not reap; so also him that prunes the vines, like one who will not gather the grapes; 44 them that marry, like those who will have no children; and them that do not marry, like those who are widowed. 45 Because those who labor, labor in vain; 46 for strangers shall gather their fruits, and plunder their goods, and overthrow their houses, and take their children captive; for in captivity and famine they will beget their children. 47 Those who conduct business, do it only to be plundered; the more they adorn their cities, their houses and possessions, and their persons, 48 the more angry I will be with them for their sins,” says the Lord.

We see in Matthew 24, Jesus gives us signs of His return and the end of this age, and after He gives a number of signs, He says they are the beginning of the birthpains ("sorrows" in some translations). Likewise, the Book of 1 Thessalonians 5 tells us that the Day of the LORD will come as a thief in the night and sudden destruction will strike suddenly as a woman in birthpains.

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6 KJV — But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

The Remnant of Israel

Yeshua Jesus is the Head of Jacob and He is the Promised Seed known as the Male-Child, the Head of the Body specifically. Although, when He came the first time the Messiah was denied by His own people, sold for thirty pieces of silver, and His spirit entered Sheol for 3 days after being crucified, in order to be resurrected on the Third Day as a sign to all.

Even so today, His own nation rejects Him and claims Him not - until the fullness of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Then their blindness will be removed, their false gods will be cut off, and a remnant will receive Him with weeping.

The true Israel are those who have received the Messiah, and they are as Jacob who have received the inheritance and birthright to reign and rule with Messiah, as Christ will rule from Jerusalem as the rightful heir. Even though Israel the nation, the physical descendants of Abraham, were brought back into their land for Daniel's 70th week and for purification and atonement (according to Daniel 9), only a remnant will receive Yeshua Jesus the true Messiah and will receive the promises of Yahweh and be saved and rule with Yeshua Jesus at His Return (see Zechariah 12-14).

Daniel's 70 Weeks

According to many Bible scholars, there is one more week left for the nation of Israel, which is a week of years. Daniel 9:27 tells us that the AntiChrist will confirm a covenant with Israel and many nations for this final week (7 years).

Israel will be under the Levitical Preisthood animal sacrifices in the Third Temple (Revelation 11), until the AntiChrist turns against Israel and commits the abomination of Desolation in the Third Temple (2 Thessalonians 2) very similar to Antiochus Epiphanies in the Book of Maccabees.

Once Daniel's 70th Week is completed the LORD Almighty will have redeemed all of Israel, including the grafted in Gentiles whom will die for His name's sake (Revelation 20). For the Gentiles are the seed of Abraham by their faith in the Messiah (Galatians 3:29).

  • Daniel 9:24 KJV — Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
